Main Pages&nbsp;-&nbsp;Templates
<p> BlogWorks <small>XML</small> uses templates to display blog posts. For more
  information on templates themselves see <a href="help.asp?page=templating">About Templates</a>.<br />
For the templating tags that BlogWorks use see <a href="help.asp?page=tags">Template Tags</a>.</p>
<h3>Editing Templates</h3>
<p>When a blog is first created a default template is made and saved ready for
  editing.<br>
There are two types of templates that BlogWorks <small>XML</small> uses: Main Blog Page and
  Archive Index Page.</p>
<p><b>Main Blog Page</b> - this template is displayed on entry to the <i>Templates</i>
page. It is used as the template for the main page used to display your blog
posts. It is also used to display the monthly archives that are created for
  each month's posts.</p>
<p><b>Archive Index Page</b> - selecting this option causes the Archive Index
Page template to be loaded for editing. This page is used to display a list
of links to the various monthly archive pages. It is used mainly in conjunction
  with Blogger templates as BlogWorks
Templates are capable of showing an archive list on the Main Blog Page.</p>
<p><b>Preview</b> - templates can be previewed before saving.</p>
<p><b>Save Template</b> - When a template is saved a copy is made before changes
are commited to file. This is because BlogWorks checks the template before saving
it to check that the needed blog tags are present and correct. If an error occurs the template isn't saved (which
means your old template is available by re-loading the <i>Templates</i> page)
and the 'faulty' template is re-displayed for further editing - to save you
  having to start over.</p>
