Going Natural

I first opted to go natural back in the fall of 2005, and started cutting off permed hair (see the chin-length photos below). I quickly grew impatient with that–and bold!–and opted to cut my hair down to a small ‘fro, which I wore until I started my locs in February 2008.

To this day, I wear locs, usually loose, but sometimes pulled back. I don’t twist or latch them for “maintenance”–I wash, condition, and separate at the roots, so I have about 4 weeks of loose growth beneath the locs.

My hair and scalp have never been healthier.
