Big Fat Deal » Jay McCarroll On Celebrity Weight Loss – "Because you have an audience, and people rooting you on, and then suddenly that audience feels ownership in your results. And so then you’re like Carnie Wilson or Kirstie Alley, constantly having to publicly humble yourself and beg forgiveness for gaining the weight back." 8 tips to manage your files better – Courtesy of Michael. Titles on links: straightening up
A combination of my recent job interview and reading Coding Horror reminded me that I’ve been slack on putting title attributes on my links here on the blagonet. The interview because it touched on accessibility, and Coding Horror because Atwood crosslinks a lot of his posts, but doesn’t give the name of the post in the title tag, which means I end up with 30 open tabs to blog entries that I couldn’t cherry-pick thanks to non-semantic URIs and no titles. I also don’t know which of Atwood’s links are internal or external without checking the URIs. Kinda frustrating. So I reactivated my External Links plugin (which puts that nice…

Welcome! – Okay, nevermind on the link below. This intro provides some good insight into the Tiny Living thing, which is more than just 60 sq. ft houses. Not sure that I want to downsize my house in particular, but it's an interesting movement. Tiny House In Asheville – I'm increasingly fascinated by this Tiny House movement (and need to do more research on it), although it initially strikes me as a fairly artificial constraint on living. a series of rants – Auntie Pixelante gives good rants. It’s probably a good idea to (re)read the first part before jumping into the second part. Enjoy: I took a deep breath and dialed the number. “Theodore Sbili?” said a soft voice that — I’d have sworn — chittered. There was something insectoid about the voice, a little click under the words. “That’s me,” I said slowly.

Facebook: just don’t understand – Yelp Accused of Extortion | Threat Level | Wired.com – I don't use sites like Yelp very often, but I have to admit that this is a pretty clever scam that they seem to be running. They've probably gotten away with it for a while if they're actually doing it. What We Learned from the SuperBowl Ads – The Pursuit of Harpyness – The good kind of snarky. "Women and Doritos are of equal value, to be coveted by some men (skeevy would-be boyfriends) and protected by others (aw, cute little boys!), who are their rightful owners."
