    Those animalistic urges–Grr, baby.

I have a taste for meat. Yup, vegetarian-for-four-years-and-counting Lissa wants to chomp on some animal-flesh. I don’t know what it is–the fact that I realized that a good bit of the weight I lost was muscle (not that I didn’t have plenty to spare, but the idea of that much muscle loss just hurts), the fact that I’ve (as a result) started measuring the amount of protein in my diet and am coming up very short of what I need to simply maintain muscle mass with the kinds of activites I do, or the fact that it’s been a while since I’ve even tried meat–but I have developed a hankering…

    Revisiting the teefuses

I’ve spent the past several days regaining jaw mobility, spending 15 minutes cleaning my mouth after every meal, and casually watching for signs of dry socket. Symptoms of dry socket after wisdom tooth extraction are pain, “ranging from ‘dull’ to moderate to severe” and a foul mouth odor. How pleasantly helpful. So what does it mean when I wake up at 03:30 every night with atrocious jaw pain and stinky breath? Well, now what do I do with it?

So I’m sitting on this GMail account (common nickname dot last name at gmail.com), and damn if I know what to do with it. I mean, I’ve got two nice-sized IMAP accounts. I’ve got up to four hundred 50 MB POP3 accounts at irrsinn dot net. I’ve got webmail access at all of the above. And now I have GMail. I don’t need another secret/personal account that I carefully distribute to keep away the spammers. See above about those four hundred POP3 accounts at this here domain. I have, and can make, sufficient e-mail addresses related to this site. I have junk mail accounts. I have accounts that only receive…

    A tidbit of geeky fun

So a long, long time (two years?) ago I made a little teeny ASP app to allow me to write and post my little book reviews. Copy/paste, and you’ve also got the apps for the old Mandrake and newer Gentoo sections of the site. However, because these are home-brewed things, they don’t come with any frills, like RSS feeds. So this weekend, I found an ASP class to do it for me. Following the demo (with some tweaks, described below), with a single, minor change to the class itself (described below), I now have RSS 1.0 syndication for the (rarely-updated, admittedly) Gentoo and Book Review areas. I don’t know how…
