“Art and Soul” posted
Based loosely on a local art festival I attended a couple of weekends ago (also called Art and Soul), I’ve written “Art and Soul“, a little short about… courage? It was full of limbs. Some with pseudoflesh, some shiny or dull metal, some more plastic-like materials. And all were decorated intricately. The metals were engraved with tight, swirling patterns covering most of the surface, and the pseudofleshes were scarred in similar patterns, as if the wearer had been burned or cut very, very carefully. No wonder people were giving it a wide berth. It falls within my newfangled Transhuman Congress ‘verse.

The journey to becoming a cyborg
Warning: this post involves my vagina and uterus and a bit of blood. If vaginas squick you, or uteri make you blush, go away. Go now.

Soon: Lissa the Cyborg
Not that I’m not already one, courtesy of the glasses, but this mod is new. In about 2 hours, I’ll be getting an IUD installed. Or implanted. Whatever. I’m so nervous I could scream. It could hurt like a sonovabitch or I might feel next to nothing. I’ll post back later, if I don’t chew my fingers off (my nails are already gone) in the meantime.

A lot of the ideas concern what a “person” is, what essential rights people have, how subjugated people make their own culture and identity, etc. especially as pertains to artificial intelligence. I also want to use this to experiment with letting a universe emerge from a set of short/flash stories (as opposed…

Is Soulja Boy Ze Frank inspired?
I think it’s pretty obvious that Soulja Boy is a child of the internet. He has music videos of people watching his videos on youtube and all that. Jay Smooth did a video a while back about Soulja Boy stealing some song. I can’t embed it, but watch from 0:30 to about 0:40 of this. Then watch the Ze Frank dancing here (especially “Strutting It” and “Stop it Silly”) and here and tell me there’s not a marked resemblance. I knew there was something familiar about SB’s dancing the first time I saw that mess. At the time, though, I was watching my high school students do the dances, and…
