I’m currently sitting in Lucky 13, a tattoo (and piercing) place up in Mooresville.
Where I just finished getting my first tattoo, a live oak tree, complete with Spanish moss.
Here it is in the final stretch of shading:
Plenty of the more subtle shading won’t show until it heals, which should take a couple of weeks.
It hurt a lot more than I expected, particularly the outlining. I was expecting all the pain to be like the manageable rawness of the shading, but ended up taking three breaks due to light-headedness.
By the end of the 3 hours, I hadn’t shed any tears, but I was past ready to be done. That said, I’m totally glad I did it. I loved the tattoo artist and her style, and had fun kinda-sorta hanging out with Deana and Greg (around all the wincing).
Now Deana’s in the chair, getting a Captain America-style pin-up girl on her thigh:
Two or three more hours, this time watching.
That’s really nice, what made you decide to go with the live oak?
My wonderful experiences on the NC beaches, particularly Pawleys Island. I love seeing the older live oaks at Brookgreen gardens.
I LOVE the pawleys island/litchfield area! best beaches in SC
Pawley’s Island is wonderful. I spent some summers there in a house with a pier out into the marsh, where we could catch live crab (and then eat it for dinner). We also saw live dolphins regularly there. I love it, too! My favorite live oaks are in Southport (you can take the ferry over from Wilmington) at a cemetery.
wow,… thats a serious tat!
^_^
Beautiful!
That looks amazing and gorgeous!
