An interesting, ecclectic mix
Dublab is an online streaming media source that plays… odd, yet interesting music. I hate to describe music in terms of general classifications, as they rarely ever indicate the reality of music (take Tool, for instance), but with Dublab, you get a little techno/dance type music, mixed with a short little country-sounding ditty, followed by that type of rock/alternative music that loves horns, followed by who knows what. I have yet to hear a group that is recognizable, either from pop music (of which I have heard none at all) or from the electronica/techno scene (and please, will someone explain the difference between electronica, techno, dance, and house music?!). There…

A Friend in trouble
Yes, I have one. That I know of. This friend is finding himself rather stuck in a pattern with respect to relationships (or lack of), family life, school life. I hardly ever get to talk to him, as we go to different schools and have different buddies now, but every now and then, we get to sit and talk. And it’s all good, even if life is shit for one or both of us. But tonight was different. Instant messaging is hardly the way to pick up on cues from a person’s body language, but knowing him the way I do, I don’t think I have ever been so worried…

Scholarship NewsFlash
Due to my status as a National achievement Finalist, I received a letter today for a $1 500 scholarship to WPI. I am a very happy camper. There is another scholarship that I should be able to get for $12 500 because of the National Achievement thingy (although I haven’t gotten a letter for it yet). That alone is an entire third of the tuition, renewable. I will, however, happily commit suicide if I am rejected from WPI at this point. Update: That last was a joke. Some nut tried to contact me via AIM and talk about this. Also, when someone named “GOD JESUS ETC” tries to talk to…

So much to do…
This isn’t a bitch or a rant. It’s a little more introspective. I’ve always known that I’m a lazy bum. Not a bum in the sense of that kid that never has his school supplies when they’re needed, but in the sense of that smart girl that always cramming for tests and completing homework the minute before it’s due. I had a four day weekend, due to the inclement weather here in Charlotte, NC (I love that word “inclement”), and what did I really do with my time? Saturday and Friday have been amply explained in previous posts. Saturday night, Sunday, Monday, and today I have done not much else…

I am the Wo-Man! Well, not really…
Yes, I am feeling like quite the guru right now. It’s silly, I know; all I did was hack a little code. Since I have been reading through the archives of NP.com, I have realized how truly irritating the idea of having the archive pages in reverse chronological order is. Yes, Michael complained about the confusion before, and yes, I thought I understood where he was coming from, but until you read 50 or so slightly more than a screenful posts while having first start near the bottom of the page, then scroll down a little to read the post, then scroll up a couple of Page-Ups to read the…
