Choosing the Unconventional Path
Last year, Greg and I expanded the boundaries of our relationship pretty drastically. It went really badly, but has resulted in an immense amount of growth for me: I’ve never been so independent within this relationship, so free to say “no” and feel my feelings without justifying or suppressing them. And here you all probably thought I was kick-ass assertive 24/7.

Weekly Linkage: Friday Fon
That’s, um, fon. I’m currently taking an evening off from former-house cleaning to sit and chill with my busted shoulder. An old, old injury reared its head when we moved, and my left arm can’t raise more than about 20 degrees from straight down without quite a bit of pain. Lifting is a no-go. Officer: *incredulous laugh* Well, I just don’t know… You’ll probably have to go through the courts–look, I don’t know, just go ask back there…

Finally, Some Wedding Relaxation
Within the last week, a few incredible things happened with regards to the wedding: My stress level dropped by about 50%. I got my wedding dress. RSVPs are coming in. We have a marriage license! Wedding planning is fun again! Actually, RSVPs starting coming in last week and are trickling off this week, but we now have People Attending Our Wedding. Which makes this stuff, like, official. So does the marriage license, which was pleasantly easy to get. Greg and I took a couple of hours and worked straight through our Checklist o’ Doom (thank you, Knot), making sure we knew where we stood on everything, clearing out irrelevant tasks,…

This week’s internet cruising: No Moods, Ads or Cutesy Fucking Icons (Re-reloaded) » Extraordinary Claims – Dust off your scientific hats for this one. Watts does an interesting analysis of the responses to a paper showing statistically significant evidence of precognition. Other folks apparently jumped all over the precog article with some borderline dishonest critiques, which Watts chews on. The “…the fuck…” exercise. « intangible.ca – Hear, hear.
