Irrsinn.net: taking joy in human unreason

Just a bad conversation all around

So N. (Mr. “He’s fond of you”) and I were discussing how almost all the guys at work have children… which is a little weird, since these are all computer/telco geeks. Here’s the end of the conversation:

N: Yeah, K had, like, five children.
Me: Five spawn? Good grief.
N: Yeah, only two professors have bigger families than that–[names the Two Famous Families]
Me (growing increasingly horrified): Wait, but aren’t you guys all supposed to be computer geeks?! Shouldn’t you all be surfing the Internet instead of–
N: Yes, but… what else are we supposed to do when the Internet goes out?
Me: *dead*

Ew. Ew ew ew.

And in my current sleepy state, I have a statement to make: I am not mysterious. I am not complicated. My issues are simple ones that will resolve themselves in a simple manner at some point in the future.

That is all.

Hey Michael – you should have pulled out that “geeks make good lovers” article on this one! :)
