I just read my post from this morning in the light of a new day and a few hours sleep and work. I think it may seem a little more bitter to the innocent bystander than I intended it to be. I was in a weird mood last night, and was listening to odd music that got my blood flowing (“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” by Michael Jackson). I just got home from work (a seven hour shift, which is long for the theater at which I work), and I’m blasting Michael Jackson’s Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 on headphones (“Wanna be startin’ somethin’ / You gotta be startin’ somethin’…”) and feeling like I want to write. I’m still on page 2 of 124 of the conversion of gm.cgi, after about 2 hours of work, primarily due to my having to reference Perl syntax and ASP FileSystemObject and VBScript syntax. It doesn’t seem impossible yet. Also, I think one of my laptop batteries is deceased. It doesn’t seem to be holding a charge anymore. That doesn’t bode well financially speaking…. I’m tired and sick. I’m going to take a nap before I go to work… Must. Have. More. Sleep.

Yesterday in English class we had a discussion about existentialism and its relevance to Richard Wright’s work Black Boy. Althought the discussion was mostly pro crustean, I did learn something interesting: I think like an existentialist. My teacher was explaining what she considered the four basic tenants of existentialism to me, and it fit me to a tee. I find it fascinating that there is name for the way I see things. That was a major discovery for me. On a more technical (or nerdy) note, I have decided to undertake a (possibly) mammoth task: I am goiing to convert Greymatter to ASP. I hate the available free CGI servers…
