Living it up on the last day

I’m ridiculously pleased I went ahead and ran Friday after work, because I woke up this morning short on sleep and with barely enough energy to scrub my bathroom semi-clean one last time. If I’d had some Ajax, that bathroom would be polished, but many people don’t seem to think to buy the hard stuff, it seems. At any rate, I was up at 06:30. I cleaned, I ate, I threw away tons of stuff I couldn’t take home with me and didn’t have time to properly dispose of–I’d replaced my wardrobe of pants about a month ago, and hadn’t made time or arrangements to take the old clothes to…

    Time-only runs are fun

I did my forty-five minute Thursday run in the evening, which was interesting, since I’d been pre-dawn running all summer. Advantages to evening run: More energy. This may be related to fact that I’d ingested food within the past five hours. The forty-five minute run was actually a piece of cake, and I’ll probably do an hour run early next week. Cheese fondue was a success and my initial impression has been changed drastically. Then there was the chocolate. And the bananas. Oh… I’m something of a [closet] sensualist, and the difference in types of sweetness, temperature (the bananas were chilled), and texture, along with the sheer pleasure of mixing the sharper sweetness of bananas with smoothness of milky dark chocolate is enough to keep me fascinated and interested in eating far past any “full” signals my body…

    Not so bad…

Today was surprisingly nice. I had a rough night last night, but I came in to work early, got work started and done, and had a little fun in the process. Like lunch by scum pond with Luke. (Ah, sunlight. That thing I only see when I’m going home and when I go to bed…) Or a ridiculously fun ride on a pallet through the academic buildings with Luke and Dr. 7. Or the fondue the lab girls have planned. Jenn and I did cheese fondue this past Saturday, and I have to admit I was disappointed. I just don’t like the taste of fermented things (like wine), and it…
