    Snap, jack!

    So, while I was in San Antonio on Friday, I went rollerskating with Dre and T-dawg. Being more than a little rusty, I fell. Twice. Took a kid with me, too, although it was his fault for skating right across my path. Did I look like I knew how to stop? Anyway, when I gallantly saved the kid from my crushing weight by falling back, I–of course–caught myself on my right wrist. That’s fine. Just a sprain, right? Flying back to Charlotte was annoying. Constant pain, luggage all left-handed and awkward. I ended up getting a store-bought brace, which helped a bit. Yesterday, though… Typing and note-taking and everything… ow.…

    All I needed was a stopper for a file cabinet. Some slider shelfy thing that would hold up my measly 10 file folder. What I got was a Great Moment of Objectification. I strolled up to a group of potential helpers, and as I asked the one I’ve seen most around the office, “Hey, do you know where I can find–” his buddy gave me a once-over and muttered, “Mmm, mmm. You just made my day.”

    Three fun things on dance-day

    In reverse order of occurrence: Assmar makes me do funny things Like ride down the highway in 40-degree weather with the windows down and the heat blasting at the floorboards. The cool air lowers my body temperature (bad cooldown after hip-hop) and the hot air keeps my lungs from seizing up in the cold. Seems weird to me.

    Deliberate starvation

    I find that I have a lot of trouble mustering the courage to write about weight loss here. I mean, to really write about it, to give numbers and talk about specific failures and how I felt and how much weight loss sucks. My one goal for 2008 (from March 1, 2008 to March 1, 2009) is and was to lose 35.9 pounds. I’ve lost 14.6 lb since then (for a while I flailed about, very confused as to what to do), which leaves me with… 21.3 lb. In about 21 weeks. Doable, if I keep on the path I’m going.
