Goal of the day.
To think of a food that isn’t breakfast food, that doesn’t need to be cooked in some fashion (I have no microwave, and no oven cookware), that can serve as a meal (particularly, as dinner when the cafeteria is closed), and that doesn’t have an expiration date shorter than a month (if it has one at all). And cheap would be awesome.

Briefly touching on a multitude of topics before hitting the hay.
I survived the job without any illness or deaths. I actually think it’s going to be Wednesday when I die. But I have my feet under me just enough to be able to cope in working the Desk by myself, I think, even though I won’t be any kind of fast or efficient yet. I even went for a run after work. Unfortunately, this was in lieu of dinner, but I made up for it in cookies consumed at the Negroid Party I went to. Unlike the last one, this one was fun, simply because I am a lot more social and a little less self-conscious. Andrea and I rode…

Has winter hit already?
The clock I use as an alarm got moved an hour forward, meaning when I went to breakfast at what should have been ten minutes until 08:00, I discovered the cafeteria was closed. No wonder I was so tired when my alarm indicated it was running time. (I crawled my ass back in bed…) In other news, I finally got my external drive set up, so Ani DiFranco is rocking my world again. I have this strange, rebellious urge to be ultra-social right now. It may just be a desire to buck the feeling of school settling down around me, but I want to be active and be social and…

When mundane busyness becomes fascinating
I spent all day yesterday in meetings for two of my jobs, and paid for it dearly later that day. Sitting for five hours meant that my hamstrings (which I’m officially calling “pulled” at this point) were so tight I was left to small, painful, shuffling steps for a few hours after I got back up. Damn. Then came recruitment for the Thorn. Technically, I should have also been recruiting for NSBE, but I have some issues with the way the organization is run at Rose, so I basically do my job as Communications Chair and go home, rather than throwing myself into it as I do with the newspaper.…

Pulled vs. simply sore
My legs feel no better, despite another half-hour run and more very careful stretching. I think my hamstrings are past sore and into injured, because the pain is lingering and a little sharper than simple soreness. The good news is that the running isn’t making it worse. I think I’m going to stick with half-hour runs until I regain full mobility, then move times back up to 50 minutes or an hour. Shorter runs will also give me time to nail down school schedule stuff without feeling like I need to be out for an hour in the morning.
