    I’ve been lax…

So Thursday morning at 07:00 I did a 45-minute elliptical workout. Again, very nice. Friday I tried a run. I got about 2 mi before my stomach protested. Last night’s run got to 2.4 mi before I had to walk a ways. I managed to finish 5 km last night, but I couldn’t use the rowing machine afterward and I paid for it later. I think I’m going to start padding my runs with elliptical work (40 minutes on elliptical, 20 to 30 minutes of running) and the rowing machine to keep burning, because my stomach isn’t well enough for me to pick up and start running 5 milers again.…

    Good, good.

Still not running, but I spent an hour on the elliptical, followed by 2 km on the rowing machine with no discomfort during the workout and nothing overly dangerous occurring after. I’m going to wait until about Friday before trying a light run. Today’s workout, though, was actually very, very nice. When I was done, I exited the SRC on very tired, very shaky legs. I like this. Since I’m soon to be restricted to the SRC because my pansy-ass hates cold weather, I will most likely mix my runs up with elliptical time. Cross-training is generally a good habit, anyway, so I’m a lax bum for just running all…

This update is brought to you by the letters T, M, and I.

I missed the bulletin on the problems with hour-long runs when one is suffering from a bloody case of gastroenteritis, or damage from aspirin overuse, or whatever the fuck I’ve been going through for the past few days. And I do mean bloody. *shudder* I did, however, complete a five mile run today and on Tuesday. Tuesday marked the beginning of my illness. I thought I was over it by now. Today’s run and the aftermath proved I am not. So, after I finish this sub sandwich, I’m back on a restricted, no dairy, no spicy, no meat, no sugar, no extremely acidic/basic foods diet until things heal up. I…

    Girly weight and food talk.

It is disturbing to me how much my weight can fluctuate within a week or two’s span. I put on my shorts to go for a run today, looked down at my legs, and decided I would be running outside instead of in the SRC. I cannot find a balance between intake and output, and I suspect I’m nearing a weight equilibrium such that my weight can head upwards as easily as it drops. This doesn’t make things easier, because I know absolutely nothing about maintaining weight. Losing, yes. Gaining, yes. Balance, no. Something for research, I suppose. It’s just very, very frustrating to be swinging on this pendulum right…

    Brrr.

When I got up for my 05:00 run this morning, I knew it was going to be chilly utside, so I put on sweat pants, but left on just the t-shirt and sports bra as adequate. Heh. When that door swung open, it was decided very quickly that my warm-up was going to consist of me running down to the track, and that my workout would consist of my hauling ass around the track for an hour. Turns out I only stayed on the track for a half-hour. It must have been in the thirties or low forties, because there was ice/frost on cars in the parking lot. I’m trying…
